About
Benton Franklin Community Action Committee (BFCAC or CAC) is a certified 501(c) 3 non-profit corporation, established in 1966 to assist low-income families and individuals to identify options and alternatives for self-sufficiency and independence by improving their chances for filling their employment, housing, and childcare needs.
BFCAC provides services under approximately forty-two (42) different contracts and networks with community partners to provide a wide variety of services and programs in Benton and Franklin Counties. Income eligibility, guidelines, age, residence, and geographical area requirements vary from program to program. Please visit the BFCAC website for more details.

- Adult Education
- This service area includes programs such as GED classes, citizenship services, ELL, and cooking and nutrition.
- Children & Youth Services
- This service area includes programs such as after school and summer programs, head start, childcare, and housing services for youth.
- Disability + Senior Services
- This service area includes programs such as adult day centers, food home delivery, housing services, and utility discounts.
- Transportation
- This service area includes programs such as bus passes, gas cards, medical transportation and van service.
- Emergency Services
- This service area includes programs such as food banks, emergency shelters, motel vouchers and rental/mortgage assistance.
- Energy Assistance & Weatherization
- This service area includes programs such as emergency shut off prevention, energy assistance, heating system repairs, minor home repair and weatherization.
- Food & Nutritional Programs
- This service area includes programs such as food banks, meal sites, and SNAP (food stamps).
- Housing Assistance
- This service area includes programs such as affordable housing, permanent supportive housing, rental assistance, and homelessness prevention and rapid rehousing.
