Metropolitan Development Council (MDC)

About

MDC or Metropolitan Development Council, is a vital local nonprofit in Tacoma that has been serving Pierce County residents since 1964. MDC has introduced national model programs such as: “Housing First,” “Healthcare for the Homeless,” “College Bound,” and the “Educational Opportunity Center.” MDC is a strategic partner with local schools, hospitals, cultural venues, colleges and universities, non-profits, and local governments. MDC serves over 20,000 people annually in the area and they offer over 40 different programs to serve their communities needs in the areas of: employment, education, housing, and healthcare. MDC is dedicated to the following values: human potential, inclusion, equity, excellence, and integrity. MDC is a particularly special CAA in our network as they are the only Community Action Agency in our network that offers an Inpatient Withdrawal Management (Detox) and Inpatient Psychiatric Evaluation & Treatment.

Programs
