About

Opportunities Industrialization Center (OIC) of Washington, a nonprofit, established in 1971, strives to eliminate unemployment, poverty, illiteracy, and racism so all people can live with greater human dignity. OIC works to afford a second chance to individuals and families with multiple life challenges.

OIC provides services through four divisions including: housing and financial services; nutrition and health services; education and career services, and community services. For over 50 years, OIC has helped residents of Washington State become self-sufficient through programs such as job skills training, high school education completion, energy assistance, emergency food assistance, youth, senior services, and more.

OIC is dedicated to helping individuals and families improve the quality of their lives. OIC believes that all people deserve respect, dignity, opportunity, education, and upward mobility to become self-sufficient. OIC is proud of their innovative collaborations and partnerships in their community. OIC looks forward to many more years of making their vision for the underserved populations a working reality throughout the Valley.

  • Adult Education
  • This service area includes programs such as GED classes, citizenship services, ELL, and cooking and nutrition.
  • Children & Youth Services
  • This service area includes programs such as after school and summer programs, head start, childcare, and housing services for youth.
  • Disability + Senior Services
  • This service area includes programs such as adult day centers, food home delivery, housing services, and utility discounts.
  • Transportation
  • This service area includes programs such as bus passes, gas cards, medical transportation and van service.
  • Employment Assistance
  • This service area includes programs such as career planning, social enterprises, job assistance, vocational skills and training and WorkFirst community jobs.
  • Emergency Services
  • This service area includes programs such as food banks, emergency shelters, motel vouchers and rental/mortgage assistance.
  • Energy Assistance & Weatherization
  • This service area includes programs such as emergency shut off prevention, energy assistance, heating system repairs, minor home repair and weatherization.
  • Healthcare
  • This service area includes programs such as child dental services, mental health services and substance abuse prevention and counseling.
  • Housing Assistance
  • This service area includes programs such as affordable housing, permanent supportive housing, rental assistance, and homelessness prevention and rapid rehousing.
  • Money Management
  • This service area includes programs such as credit builder loans, financial counseling and education, foreclosure prevention loans and free tax preparation assistance.,
  • Veterans
  • This service area includes programs such as counseling for veterans, housing services for veterans, and supportive services to veterans and families.
  • Victim & Legal Services
  • This service area includes programs such as crime victims advocacy, domestic violence prevention, legal referrals and services, and voicemail.
