Northwest Community Action Center (NCAC)
The Northwest Community Action Center (NCAC) is part of the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic (YVFWC). YVFWC first opened in 1973 and has grown into one of the largest community health centers in the northwest with over 40 clinics in 18 communities across Washington State and Oregon. NCAC offers programs that help individuals and families achieve a greater level of self-sufficiency.
NCAC offers many programs in the following areas: adult education, citizenship classes, energy assistance, English as a second language (ESL) classes, home weatherization and healthy homes programs, homeless services, SNAP education, WorkFirst programs to help folks gain employment skills and find good jobs, and YouthBuild, which is a unique opportunity for young folks to develop job skills while earning their high school diploma or their GED.
NCAC is the only Community Action Agency in our network that offers a “Seniors on the go” program. This unique program offers activities for local seniors to gather weekly to enjoy coffee and conversation, table-top games, fun field trips, hearing a guest speaker, group exercise events, and much more.
YVFWC MISSION: “Together we are dedicated to lead, with the courage to care, the determination to promote personal growth, and the compassion to champion the cause of those who have no voice.”
