Seattle Conservation Corps (City of Seattle)

About

Seattle Conservation Corps (SCC) is one of four government entities in our WSCAP network that has been designated as a Community Action Program! SCC is one of six Community Action Agencies (CAA) serving the residents of King County, Washington.

SCC was established in 1986 as a unique Parks and Recreation program at the City of Seattle that provides employment for people experiencing homelessness. This program gives homeless adults opportunities to train and work in a structured program that provides them with job skills and carries out projects that benefit the local community members and the environment. This is a year-round employment program with an annual budget of about $4 million. SCC is special as they are currently the only CAA that offers grocery vouchers for those in need. Please visit the Seattle Conservation Corps website to learn more about this CAAs work in the community.
